RBI has been thrilled to sponsor Cambridge High School Robotics Team for a few years. This year we donated 200 R8-ZZ bearings to the robotics department – where students have been working on their robot concepts for the first half of the school year. The bots have entered the build stage and the students gave us an update on how their bots are progressing. See the bot concepts below.
Team 1: A Beater bar design that has been a year in concept and design. It is a 4 wheel drive design. The student are trying a negative angle into their side armor hoping that this will give less area for other bots to hit and flip their design.
Team 2: A 2 wheel drive drum bot with S7 Tool steel for their teeth in an aluminum pipe.
Team 3: A 4 wheel drive system using UHMW Polyethylene ramps to try and flip their opponents over.
Team 4: A beater bar design using 6 wheel drive design. Students are hoping that they will have more traction with 6 wheels.
